The Wyoming Geographic Information Science Center (WyGISC) at the University of Wyoming and Woolpert recently completed a Wyoming state-wide DTM and contour dataset. Woolpert utilized statewide topographic lidar data the firm collected through the 3D Elevation Program (3DEP) to create these state-wide LiDAR derivative datasets in response to needs identified by a wide range of end-users across the state.

This presentation will give a general overview of the process WyGISC and Woolpert utilized to develop this statewide DTM and Contour database, including tilling schema, coordinate systems and general methodology. The presentation will also present examples of local Wyoming constituents that are utilizing the data and discuss some relevant use cases.

Furthermore, the Wyoming LiDAR Data Portal, which enables public access to the DTM/Contour data is expected to be live at the time of the WyGEO conference. WyGISC will perform a brief live demo to showcase the new site and include the steps for obtaining DTM/Contour data for local use.
